- How to Cut Glass using Borit XY3 - Place the glass to be cut on a flat surface. Remove the brass ball end and fill oil tank with kerosine as cutting oil. Mark the design to be cut. Place the glass cutter between index finger and middle fingler. Make an angle of 45° with the glass cutter. Apply pressure (dont press too hard) & in one uninterrupted motion score the glass. You will hear a screeching sound. Gently tap on both sides of the score with brass ball end. You will get a clean cut
